President PTCL Mr. Walid Irshaid says on World Telecom Day

It is an honor to greet the Pakistani Nation on World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) on behalf of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL). 17th May marks the creation of the International Telecommunication Union and hence World Telecommunication Day has been celebrated since 1969.

Today, PTCL has redefined the conventional boundaries of the telecommunication market and has shifted from a conventional fixed telephony service provider to a market & commercially driven company. Our infrastructure spreads over almost every city, town and village of Pakistan. As a carriers-carrier, we provide the core infrastructure services to the cellular, LDIs, local loop operators, ISPs, call centers and even payphone operators.

I am proud to say that today PTCL is the largest Broadband service provider in Pakistan. In less than two years of it launch, PTCL has acquired over 150,000 Broadband customers in over 150 cities and towns across Pakistan, leading the proliferation and awareness of Broadband services across Pakistan.
PTCL has nurtured the broadband culture in Pakistan by making the broadband technology affordable and accessible by geographically bringing the service within the reach of a common user across Pakistan.
We recently doubled our broadband speed for all our existing and new customers at the same price, making 1 MB as our minimum offered speed. At PIE, Pakistan International Exchange at Karachi, we have a URL filtering device which blocks anti-state and anti-Islamic sites from the internet.
We have also installed state of the art equipment at PIE Exchange that has content filtering system capability and shall be launched shortly. This would enable us to restrict any specified site or content that may be viewed as unsuitable for children or any other subscriber.

Another revolutionary product introduced by us is digital interactive television service for the first time in Pakistan. PTCL has brought Pakistan in the list of a few countries across the globe that offers this state of the art services to its subscribers. We consciously provide the facility to block any TV channel for parental lock purposes. This proves that PTCL is well aware of its social and moral obligations and adheres to strict moral code and ethics.

PTCL also continues to be the largest CDMA operator in the country with approximately 1.25 million V-fone customers, covering over 10,000 urban & rural areas. It gives me great pleasure to declare that we deliver our service to the doorstep of our subscriber within 48-72 hours.
Because of PTCL’s customer centric philosophy, 2008-2009 has been dubbed as the year of customer care. To further improve the quality and standard of services, PTCL has taken numerous innovative steps. For PTCL, Customer comes first. Our Improved and enhanced call center services, formation of Corporate Service Centers and One Stop Shops across the nation ensures healthier interactivity between us and our valued customers. Very soon, customers would be also able to interact with us through a Customer Care Portal where customers would be able to lodge & check status of their complaints.

    I come to request you that I resident of Sharafi Village UC #5 Landhi Town Sector #20 our old PTCL Connections which are dead According City Government development work we have removed those old connections witch are approximately tow years in dead condition. There is no still response our applications now PTCL new rule we need new connections with DSL. There forty five applicant applied we have received thirty six connection with DSL. Now remaining nine connections and we are receiving their bill and with call chargers include mobile call and local call we have reviled numbers but still not get connections. Kindly reopen our connections and please remove their line rate. I am requesting among those connection which are remaining. I am mentioning those numbers below .we need further new connection.

    I HAVE A SERIOUS TROUBLE IN MAINTAINING MY TELEPHONE LINE. MY TELEPHONE WAS DEAD SINCE 2006 EVEN I HAD PAID ALL MY DUES. TWO MONTHS BEFORE WHEN MY TELEPHONE LINE ACTIVATED AFTER SEVERAL TIMES COMPLAINS, IT GOT AGAIN DEACTIVATED. SIR I AM A STUDENT AND DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO CONSUME ON MAKING MY PHONE LINE CONNECTED. LAST MONTH I GOT THE BILL OF MY DEAD PHONE (SO CALLED ACTIVATED). KINDLY HELP ME IN THIS REGARD . I WILL BE THANKFUL TO YOU.

    I just buy ptcl EVO 3.1Mbps last month July 18th i already used before Wateen WiMax and Worldcall Evdo they all make fool all people now i have Ptcl EVO 3.1 Mbps there on website also help center say maximum or Average download speeds from 300 kbps to 500 kbps! but that time i buy till now today 10 August i never seen more than 150 or 175kbps its most of time 96kbps or 125kbps even i check it morning , after noon and evening its same now let see whats wrong there how can they gives us 500kbps even that account only 3.1Mbps they cant able to gives us more than 250kbps or 300kbps downloading speed they write on web page lie and total wrong they just try to make fool if you have 1Mbps account then maximum downloading speed 100kbps or if u have 2Mbps then maximum downloading speed 200kbps. How can Ptcl Evo 3.1Mbps gives us 500kbps i smile lot coz i also did not think before buy that but i know that time they lie i just buy after think that latest maybe they will gives me 250kbps or 300kbps but not now they juts 125kbps. Here in our Wonderful Country all company invest money for IT and Cell phone services all just take money they did not gives us return. They are much danger than robbers because robber show us guns and get amount and that companies make fool and play with us and got amount its a cheating. Wateen , Worldcall now its time Ptcl Evo i got so bad experience here. Did any one think how much we are poor and backward to other countries ?? Japan , China , Singapore , Uk , Canada , Turky and many more they have more than 4Mbps account for home user and 4Mbps means 4Mbps unlike Ptcl Evo say some and gives different. Please stop play with people or if u cant able to gives good service. Any way this is our Country here all come for investment IT and telecommunication because they invest 10% and get to people 1000% ....

    i am here in kindom of saudi arabia working as a civil engineer and i use mostly my land line of ptcl but from last two months i am not able to use the ptcl facility due to problem in my home phone number that is , 0092912654586 ,peshawar so please and kindly do some positive action .

    I bring your Kind notice that I complaint for Smart TV I am sorry to say that I could not received Positive reply sofar.You know I have continue complaint on complaint # 1218 & 1236 I am disappointed from your service you are advertising is very good and attractive but service is zero. if you are not provide the facilaties forsaid subject and give the reason why you can not provide that service or you are not able to run this service.Despite the many complaint to your installer But he is also not give suitable answer and not check my smart T.V I am not understand what is happening with me. I need urgent service, but yours still unable my connection Please look this matter with your best consultative and take necessary action regarding problem.
